Amal Knight, affectionately known as “AK,” is a Jamaican professional footballer born on November 19, 1993, in Kingston, Jamaica. Standing at 1.91 meters (6 feet 3 inches), he plays as a goalkeeper and has been a significant presence in both club and international football.

Early Life and Education

Knight’s football journey began at Wolmer’s Boys High School in Kingston. His talent and dedication earned him a scholarship to the University of the West Indies (UWI), where he further honed his skills. During his tenure at UWI, he played for the UWI Football Club from 2013 to 2019, making 94 appearances and contributing to the club’s historic promotion to the National Premier League after the 2014–15 season.

Club Career

Knight’s professional career commenced with Harbour View in 2012. He later returned to Harbour View in 2022, making 19 appearances that season. In 2020, he signed with the USL Championship club San Diego Loyal and was loaned to FC Tucson, where he made seven appearances. In July 2021, Knight joined Arnett Gardens in Jamaica. In January 2023, he signed with Lexington Sporting Club, a USL League One team, where he played 45 matches over two seasons before being released following the 2024 season.

International Career

Knight debuted for the Jamaica national team in 2018 and has since earned 12 international caps. He was part of the squad that reached the semifinals of the 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup, showcasing his skills on a larger stage.
