Chantelle Monique Swaby (born August 6, 1998) is a professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Women’s Super League club Leicester City and the Jamaica women’s national team. Born in West Hartford, Connecticut, USA, Swaby has established herself as a key player for both club and country.
Early Life and Education
Swaby developed her passion for soccer at a young age in West Hartford. She honed her skills with Connecticut FC during her youth and later attended William Hall High School. Pursuing higher education, she played collegiate soccer at Rutgers University from 2016 to 2019, making 69 appearances and scoring one goal for the Scarlet Knights.
Club Career
- Sky Blue FC (2020): Swaby began her professional career with Sky Blue FC in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) in 2020.
- Rangers W.F.C. (2021–2022): In 2021, she signed with Rangers in the Scottish Women’s Premier League, contributing to the team’s league title in the 2021–22 season.
- FC Fleury 91 (2022–2024): Swaby then moved to France, joining FC Fleury 91 in the D1 Arkema, where she made 34 appearances and scored one goal over two seasons.
- Leicester City (2024–Present): In July 2024, Swaby signed with Leicester City in the English Women’s Super League on a free transfer.
