Deneisha Selena Blackwood (born 7 March 1997) is a Jamaican professional footballer who plays as a left-back for Liga MX Femenil club Cruz Azul and the Jamaica women’s national team.
Early Life and Education
Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Blackwood began her football journey at a young age. She moved to the United States for college, attending Navarro College from 2015 to 2016. During her tenure, she made 32 appearances and scored 36 goals, earning All-American honors twice. In 2017, she transferred to the University of West Florida, where she played for the West Florida Argonauts, recording 13 goals in 31 appearances over two seasons.
Club Career
- Florida Krush (2018): Blackwood played for the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) team Florida Krush, scoring four goals in three appearances.
- Slavia Prague (2019–2020): She signed with Czech First Division club Slavia Prague, transitioning to the left-back position. Blackwood featured in nine league matches and four UEFA Women’s Champions League games, contributing to the team’s league title and their advancement to the round of 16 in the Champions League.
- Orlando Pride (2020): In September 2020, Blackwood joined the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) club Orlando Pride on a short-term contract for the Fall Series. She made her debut on 19 September 2020 against North Carolina Courage and participated in all four Fall Series matches.
- Houston Dash (2021): Blackwood signed a one-year contract with Houston Dash in January 2021.
- UNAM (2023–2024): She played for Liga MX Femenil side UNAM, making 37 appearances and scoring 11 goals.

International Career
Blackwood has been a vital member of the Jamaica women’s national team since 2018. She was part of the historic squad that qualified for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup, marking the first appearance for a Caribbean nation in the tournament. Blackwood played every minute of Jamaica’s campaign in France. As of June 2021, she has earned 26 caps and scored seven goals for the national team.
