Drew Spence is a professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Women’s Super League club Tottenham Hotspur. Born in England, she initially played for the England national team in 2015 but switched to represent Jamaica in 2021.
Club Career
Chelsea (2008–2022)
Spence joined Chelsea in 2008 after progressing through Fulham’s youth system. She played a key role in Chelsea’s first-ever FA Women’s Cup final appearance in 2012. Spence won her first major trophy in 2015 when Chelsea claimed the FA Women’s Cup, followed by securing the FA WSL title in the same year.
She remained a key part of Chelsea’s midfield, winning multiple league and cup titles, and signed a contract extension in 2020. Spence became Chelsea’s longest-serving player before leaving the club in 2022.
Tottenham Hotspur (2022–Present)
In June 2022, Spence signed a two-year contract with Tottenham Hotspur.
International Career
Spence made her debut for England in 2015 during the Yongchuan International Tournament. However, she later opted to represent Jamaica, making her debut on October 24, 2021.
She was included in Jamaica’s squad for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifiers and played a crucial role in the team’s progression.
