Jayden Hibbert (born August 5, 2004, in Teaneck, New Jersey) is a professional soccer player who plays as a goalkeeper for Major League Soccer club Atlanta United. Born in the United States, he represents Jamaica at the international level.

Early Life and Youth Career

Hibbert developed his passion for soccer at a young age, participating in various youth programs, including the New York Red Bulls Academy and Cedar Stars Academy. His dedication and talent were evident, leading him to pursue collegiate soccer.

College Career

In 2022, Hibbert enrolled at the University of Connecticut, where he played for the UConn Huskies men’s soccer team. During his tenure, he made 20 appearances and earned recognition by being named the Big East Conference Goalkeeper of the Week twice in the 2023 season. His impressive performances garnered attention, leading to an invitation to the 2023 MLS College Showcase.

Professional Career

Hibbert’s professional journey began when he was selected 19th overall in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft by Atlanta United FC. He signed with Atlanta United 2, the club’s MLS NEXT Pro team, for the 2024 season. During this period, he set a club record with 89 saves in 19 regular-season appearances, including a standout performance with 13 saves in a 1-1 draw against Inter Miami CF II on August 18, 2024. In June 2024, Hibbert was loaned to USL Championship side Birmingham Legion FC, where he made four appearances before being recalled by Atlanta United in July 2024. Effective January 1, 2025, Hibbert was promoted to Atlanta United’s first team.

International Career

Eligible to represent both the United States and Jamaica, Hibbert chose to play for the Jamaica national team. He received his first call-up in March 2024 for friendly matches against Trinidad and Tobago, making his debut during this series. Later that year, he was included in the squad for the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers in June, serving as a backup goalkeeper.
