Early Life

Simmonds was born in Virginia to Necole and Greg Simmonds. She has three younger brothers. Despite her father being a former footballer, she initially pursued gymnastics but transitioned to football at age 11 following an injury. She trained under her father’s guidance and quickly developed into a promising talent.

College Career

Simmonds played for Richmond United before beginning her college soccer career at the University of Tennessee in 2022. She chose Tennessee due to the values instilled by her parents, encouragement from Jamaica teammate Giselle Washington, and inspiration from Jamaican football legend and former Volunteer Khadija Shaw.

As a true freshman, she scored four goals in sixteen appearances, earning recognition as one of the top 100 freshmen in college soccer. Despite often playing as a substitute, her impact was noted through consistent attacking contributions and multiple shots on goal per game.

International Career

Simmonds represented Jamaica at the 2022 CONCACAF Women’s U-20 Championship, where she scored two goals. Her performances at the tournament were witnessed by her family, marking a significant moment in her early career.

She made her senior debut on September 3, 2022, in a 1–0 friendly loss to South Korea, becoming the third generation of her family to represent Jamaica at the senior international level after her father, Greg, and grandfather, Patrick.

Simmonds was part of the squad for the 2023 Cup of Nations, where Jamaica finished in fourth place. On June 23, 2023, she was named in Jamaica’s final squad for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. She made her World Cup debut in the second group game, coming on as a substitute in Jamaica’s 1–0 victory over Panama.
