Kayla Jay McKenna (née McCoy) is a professional footballer who plays as a forward for Spanish Liga F club Madrid CFF. Born in the United States, she represents the Jamaica women’s national team.
Club Career
Houston Dash (2019–2020)
McKenna signed with the Houston Dash in April 2019, making her professional debut during the 2019 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) season.
Rangers (2021–2023)
In 2021, she joined Scottish club Rangers, where she became a key player. During her time there, she won the Scottish Women’s Premier League in the 2021–22 season, along with the Scottish Women’s Premier League Cup and the City of Glasgow Women’s Cup in 2022.
Villarreal (2023–2024)
In July 2023, McKenna signed with Villarreal in Spain, continuing her European football journey.
Madrid CFF (2024–Present)
McKenna joined Madrid CFF in 2024, further cementing her place in Spanish football.
International Career
McKenna made her debut for Jamaica on February 28, 2019, in a 1–0 friendly victory against Chile. She was named to Jamaica’s 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup squad but was unable to participate due to a knee injury.
She has represented Jamaica in key international tournaments, including the 2020 CONCACAF Women’s Olympic Qualifying Championship, where she scored her first international goals.

Born in Skokie, Illinois, McKenna played youth football with Eclipse Select and Sockers FC Chicago. She played college soccer for Duke University from 2015 to 2018, where she made 82 appearances and scored 38 goals.
