Leon Patrick Bailey, nicknamed “Chippy,” is a Jamaican professional footballer born on August 9, 1997, in Kingston, Jamaica. He plays as a right winger for Premier League club Aston Villa and the Jamaica national team.

Club Career:

• Early Career: Bailey began his football journey at the Phoenix All-Star Academy in Jamaica, owned by his father, Craig Butler. At 13, he moved to Europe, playing for various youth clubs, including Anif Jugend, Liefering, and Trenčín.
• Genk (2015–2017): In 2015, Bailey signed with Belgian side Genk, where he made 56 appearances and scored 8 goals. His impressive performance earned him the Belgian Young Professional Footballer of the Year award for the 2015–16 season.
• Bayer Leverkusen (2017–2021): Bailey transferred to Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen in January 2017. Over four seasons, he played 119 matches, netting 28 goals. During the 2017–18 season, he was recognized in the Bundesliga Team of the Season and received the VDV Newcomer of the Season award.
• Aston Villa (2021–Present): In August 2021, Bailey joined Aston Villa for a reported fee of around £30 million. As of February 2025, he has made 106 Premier League appearances, scoring 16 goals and providing 17 assists. In February 2024, he was named Aston Villa’s Player of the Month.

International Career:
