Rebecca Leigh “Becky” Spencer, born on February 22, 1991, is a professional goalkeeper currently playing for Women’s Super League club Tottenham Hotspur and the Jamaica national team. She began her career at Arsenal, with stints at ASJ Soyaux, Birmingham City, and Chelsea before joining Tottenham Hotspur. Spencer has represented England at various youth levels and now plays for Jamaica at the senior international level.
Early Life:
Born in Northwick Park Hospital, Spencer attended Welldon Park First and Middle School, where she started playing as a goalkeeper at the age of 10. She later pursued her studies at Rooks Heath College.
Club Career:
Spencer started her career at Watford before joining Arsenal’s Centre of Excellence in 2001. She made her senior debut in 2006 and went on to play for various clubs including Gillingham, ASJ Soyaux, Birmingham City, Chelsea, and West Ham United.
International Career:
Having represented England at Under-15, Under-19, and Under-20 levels, Spencer also plays for Jamaica due to her heritage. She made her senior international debut for Jamaica in June 2021, wearing the number 13 jersey.
