History was made at BMO Field as Canada played the first men's World Cup match ever staged on Canadian soil — and Cyle Larin made sure it ended in celebration of sorts, his equaliser earning a 1-1 draw with Bosnia & Herzegovina.
Bosnia struck first through Jovo Lukić in the 19th minute, capitalising on a quick transition. Canada pressed and grew into the night, and with 11 minutes left Larin turned and swept home the 31st international goal of his career to send Toronto wild and claim the co-hosts' first-ever World Cup point.
It might have been more: Jonathan David was denied, and Richie Laryea's low effort was hooked off the line. But for a nation still writing its World Cup story, a point on debut at home is a foundation to build on.
